This Privacy Policy explains how I, Damian Perera ("I", "me", or "my"), an individual developer based in Bavaria, Germany, collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Tank Radar iOS application ("the App"). I am committed to protecting your personal data and complying with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Information I Collect and How I Use It
Tank Radar collects two categories of data: your device's geographical location (to provide core functionality) and anonymised usage analytics (to improve the App). Both are processed with care and in full respect of your privacy.
Location Data
I request your precise or approximate location via iOS system permissions.
This location data is used exclusively in real-time to query third-party APIs and display nearby gas stations.
Your location data is not linked to your identity, device ID, or Apple ID.
I process this data based on your explicit consent provided through the iOS location permission prompt, which you can revoke at any time in your device settings.
Analytics Data (Google Analytics for Firebase)
I use Google Analytics for Firebase to collect anonymised usage data to understand how the App is used and to improve its features and performance.
The following table summarises all data processed by the App:

No Personally Identifiable Information (PII)
Google's terms expressly prohibit sending any Personally Identifiable Information (PII) to Firebase. No names, email addresses, Apple IDs, or precise GPS coordinates are ever transmitted to Google Analytics.
Data Storage and Security
I do not operate backend servers that store your personal information.
Location data is processed temporarily in the device's memory to fulfil the API request and is never written to disk, transmitted to me, or logged anywhere.
Analytics data, is transmitted to and stored by Google on Firebase infrastructure in accordance with Google's security and data retention policies.
I do not transmit, log, or store your location history, searches, or any other personal data on my own servers.
Because I do not operate data stores myself, the risk of data breaches affecting your personal information through my systems is virtually eliminated.
External APIs and Third-Party Services
To provide the App's core functionality and to analyse usage, I interact with the following third-party services:
Data Transmission: Fuel API providers receive anonymous coordinate data only. They do not receive any identifying information about you or your device from me.
Google as Data Processor: Google operates as a data processor under a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) included in Google's Terms of Service.
Limitation of Liability: I do not own or control these external services and am not liable for how third-party providers collect, use, or protect data transmitted to them. Their respective privacy policies govern any data they process.
Analytics and Tracking
Tank Radar uses Google Analytics for Firebase to collect anonymised usage data. This helps me understand which features are used, how the App performs across different devices, and where to focus future improvements.
What is collected: App Instance ID, Identifier for Vendor (IDFV), device model and iOS version, App version, language, session duration, screen views, and in-app events (e.g. station viewed, map interaction).
What is NOT collected: Precise GPS coordinates, your name, location, email, Apple ID, payment information, or any content you personally interact with. Google's terms prohibit the transmission of any Personally Identifiable Information to Firebase.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in my practices, the services I use, or legal obligations. I will notify you of any significant changes by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this document and, where the change materially affects your rights or requires renewed consent, through an in-app notification and a fresh consent prompt.
